The War on Photographers

Last year, Popular Photography Magazine published a well-written article on the subject of photographers being harassed by the authorities since 9/11. If you've read my blog for some time then you probably know my experiences and opinions regarding this.

I had been following the whole ordeal with New York's proposed photo regulations and the ramifications it would have, but I hadn't seen this article yet.

this is some truly disturbing stuff, and unfortunately is is completely overlooked outside of the photo community. This is an issue that transcends photography and goes straight to the heart of the concept of civil rights.

I hope more people become aware of this outside of the photo community.

Thanks for the comment Ed. Yeah, I'm surprised that these cases aren't more prominent in the general news media because this sort of bully paranoia behavior is on-par with racial profiling as a form of discrimination. How quickly people forget about history.
