Joshua Tree National Park Spring Wildflowers

Joshua Tree National Park Spring Wildflowers - 2008 Picture: Joshua Tree National Park Spring Wildflowers - 2008

I went over to the southern portion of Joshua Tree National Park this weekend and found some nice wildflowers. It's been three long years, but I think this year will probably make up for lost time. Flowers are blooming later this year it seems but the signs are looking positive in the coming weeks.

There are little to no flowers north of the Cottonwood Springs entrance as far as I know so the best areas are from I-10 to the visitor center at this point. Definetely worth checking out if you have the time. I'd post more, but I just got a new computer today. My old computer died two weeks ago so I haven't really been able to look at my new photos yet.

Thanks Ron. There are a lot of bare patches as well but I found this particular area to be one of the best patches of flowers.

Beautiful shot Richard!

I'm looking forward to this wildflower season, here in the Sierra Foothills. I think it's going to be a good one!

Great shot, from what I can tell. Tough to give an opinion with it so small. I figure you probably don't want anyone snagging your photos, but I would love to see this larger.

I have never been to Joshua Tree (been told many times to go) and this makes me want to go armed with the camera!

Thanks Al. Yeah its hard to see little details on the internet. True that I don't want high rez images floating around on the net, but also because I can't fit anything bigger without throwing off the alignment of the blog. I dont' know why that happens, but its happened before.
