Logging Yard, Humboldt County
Nature Photographer, Richard Wong Standing Next to Large Stack of Logs, Eureka, CaliforniaI was driving around an industrial area of Eureka scouting for interesting subjects to shoot the next morning. Many of the businesses in this area were logging companies and this one in particular caught my eye because the stack of logs spanned nearly an entire city block. So I went back the next morning to get my pictures.

Richard,
I love this shot. You have done a great job of using the contrasts "large and small." I wrote a post months ago on using contrasts to add impact to your photos. You can see it here http://sherrimeyer.com/Blog/?p=82.
Happy 4th of July!
Sherri
Thanks Sherri. I think for a scene like this, you almost have to use a sense of scale. My other thought was to use my car but I didn't think that was as relevant as putting myself there. It would have been cool to have gotten a logging truck passing by too.
Great shot Richard, a logging truck would have been a cool addition to the scene !!
Thanks bernie. Maybe I'll photoshop a logging truck from another image. :-) kidding.
