Hotel Del Coronado
Hotel Del Coronado White Sand Beach, Coronado Island, CaliforniaHotel Del Coronado is one of the most photographed hotel resorts in California and for good reason. It is absolutely beautiful from the 1887 Queen Anne Victorian-period architecture to the landscaping and scenery. The frame is built entirely of wood. Definitely a great place to have a meal and lounge by the pool.
I must have walked around the resort three or four times. I didn't even bring out my camera the first time around because I was too busy gawking at "The Del".

Nice shot Richard. Don't you just love it when people wear red? My eye goes directly to the person in red.
I didn't get any shots of this hotel when I was there on a press trip several years ago, unfortunately. We were on a real tight, jam packed schedule. We drove by it on a tour bus, but it didn't stop there. Seems like an important photo stop though. I'm glad you were able to get a good shot of it!
Thanks Sherri. Wow. I'm surprised that the bus would go to Coronado and not stop here. I'd like to go back and get better shots of the pool but was a little self-conscious walking around with a big camera.

One of the best perks shooting my first California Coast book was getting to spend three nights at the Del. I think my room bill would have been about $2,400.00.
Nice. That sounds a little more glamorous than parking on the street in Corona Del Mar to sleep in your van. I didn't realize that it costs so much to stay at Coronado. Considering there were so many people there I wonder where all that money comes from...
